We all love nail studs, right? Well, when Born Pretty Store came out with this set of gorgeous neon studs, I knew I had to try them out. This set comes with six different colors, each in two shapes - square and round. For this manicure, I went with the purple square studs.
I started with a base of China Glaze Neon & On & On, and sponged on a gradient with China Glaze Bottle Service and China Glaze That's Shore Bright. I finished off with the purple square studs.
When I completed this manicure, I realized that the studs looked like little hearts! I flipped this picture to show you:
How cute is this?! Anyway, these studs are bright and fun. They also lay super flat, so when you cover them with topcoat, they probably won't come off.
Here is a photo of the set:
Look at all these great colors! You can get the set here, and don't forget to use the code RFL91 at checkout for 10% off your entire order with free international shipping. Born Pretty Store has tons of other great nail art accessories as well.
Here is a photo of the colors I used for this manicure.
Are you going to buy these studs? What manicure do you want to do with them?

31DNAC Day 1: Red Nails
Today marks the first official day of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge! The prompt is for red nails, and here is what I came up with:
Am I breaking the rules already by making this mostly pink? Definitely not! I gradiented my nails using Julep Rose and China Glaze Bottle Service over OPI Mod About You, and I used Julep Rose, OPI Mod About You, and China Glaze Dance Baby for the watermarble.
I am definitely proud of my work so far! I want to push myself for this challenge and do nail art that is difficult for me, so this was a great start.
Colors used in this manicure are as follows:
What do you think? Do you think I should start taking photos of the polishes I use in my manicures? It'll be easier for you guys to tell which colors I am referring to!
Anyway, stay tuned for Day 2: Orange Nails!
Check out my challenge manicures so far here.

Born Pretty Store 5mm Star Studs
Today I have a review for you from Born Pretty Store, which as you all know by now is one of my favorite nail art accessory stores! Today I am showing you these 5mm silver star studs.
I paired these studs with Essie Sand Tropez and Essie Licorice. The manicure is simple but so Autumn appropriate!
I ended up using these tweezers and this glue from Winstonia Store (reviewed here) and let me tell you, these studs are NOT coming off anytime soon, haha! That glue must be krazy glue because it is so strong. The tweezers, as expected, worked extremely well at picking up the studs. It's useful that these tweezers are angled - it makes it easier to pick up small nail art accessories.
Here's a visual on the colors used in this manicure.
Anyway, what do you think of these stars? So cute, right? They come in several different sizes and colors so check those out here. You can get 10% off your entire purchase at Born Pretty Store by using the code RFL91 at checkout - they ship for free internationally!
And don't forget, the tweezers and glue from Winstonia Store are also 10% off if you use the code NAILPOLISHCHALLENGE at checkout! (Valid until October 31st.)

The 31 Day Nail Art Challenge
As a nail blogger, I get asked a lot of questions. About nail care, nail polishes, you name it! But I have to say, the question I get asked most often is this:
"You're The Nail Polish Challenge? What's the 'challenge'?"
Well, for those of you who have been asking, here's the answer: I created this name with the sole purpose of completing nail art challenges. And for those of you who follow me, you can see that I hardly ever participate in them, let alone finish them! So far I've attempted the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge twice, and both times I didn't get too far. But this time, I decided the best way to conquer this challenge is to recruit some help!
I teamed up with some amazing ladies on Instagram and together we decided to complete the original nail art challenge, the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.
This is the challenge. Every day, complete a manicure according to these guidelines. But I decided another way to conquer this challenge is to do it twice a week, rather than every day! So I will be starting on Friday and we will all post our manicures on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Don't worry, I will still be posting swatches, reviews, and other random nail art in between!
You can follow our tag on Instagram by searching for #31DNAC. I will try my best to post links to the manicures of the other ladies of this challenge, but here are their Instagram accounts: @thepolishedokie, @chorubim, and @ameynails. They deserve tons more followers, so go follow them if you have Instagram!
Feel free to join in the challenge with us! The above image was created by me, so feel free to use it!
Good luck!
EDIT: You can see ALL of my challenge manicures by clicking here!

Pink Gingham Nails
Today I have some gingham nail art for you! It's been done before, but I got the idea from Pinkie Grey.
I used a base of OPI My Vampire Is Buff, and the pink is acrylic paint. I definitely didn't do an awesome job, but I think it's good practice to keep freehanding and I like posting my progress here!

Pretty & Polished Fall Collection Sneak Peek
Hey guys! Today I have an exciting sneak peek from Pretty & Polished - their awesome new Autumn collection is coming out on September 5th, and I was asked to review two of their polishes!
This gorgeous polish is When Hearts Kaleidoscope. Shown here is two coats layered over Essie Big Spender, but it can build to opacity on it's own! This cranberry crelly is loaded with small and medium gold hex glitters, and fuchsia dots! When I saw this color, I was so excited to try it out. The formula is great and I didn't have to fish for any glitter.
Obviously I had to mattify it! I think the polish looks great both ways.
Love is Autumnatic is a full coverage glitter filled with red, orange and gold hexes. I decided to make a gradient of this polish over Orly Luxe. You can tell from the gradient how dense this glitter is! It applies smoothly but it definitely took a thick layer of top coat to smooth it out.
Want to see more of this collection? Follow Pretty & Polished on Facebook to keep updated and participate in fun contests. You can also see their shop here and prepare for the release of these polishes on September 5th!
PS: If you're wondering why my skin looks so AMAZING in the above photos, you can thank P&P's new Vanilla Oatmeal Brown Sugar scrub, which I won in an Instagram giveaway! Seriously guys, my hands smell so delicious and they are incredibly soft.

Funky Chevron Nail Art
Today's nail art is inspired by the amazing Hannvjk from Instagram. I'm not entirely sure what to call it, but she calls them chevrons, so here are some funky chevrons for you guys!
I love this! I used a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on my pointer and pinky, and Essie Butler Please on my other two nails. Then, I took Orly Snowcone and made stripes on my blue nails.
Once that was dry, I took acrylic paint and made this pattern!
What do you think?

Winstonia 3D Faux Stone Review
When I was asked to review products for Winstonia, I jumped for joy! Today I'm going to show you a couple of the exciting products I got, and I'll even share a discount code ;)
So here are the products I got: a two piece tweezer set, a pack of 3D faux stones, and of course, nail glue!
Let me start by saying I've used a couple of different nail glues before, and this one is by far my favorite. It's thin, so when you press down on the stone/stud/whatever you are gluing, the glue doesn't spill out on the sides! Also, a little bit goes a very long way.
The tweezers are also great. They can be used for both nail art or actual tweezing. I plan on using the angled one to pick up studs and stones (they can be so pesky if you try to pick them up by hand!), and the straight one for tweezing my eyebrows :P
Onto the manicure!
(Excuse the Seche Vite shrinkage on my ring finger.) I used a base coat of China Glaze Highlight of My Summer on all my nails except my middle finger. My middle nail is China Glaze Neon & On & On with Essie Bottle Service, and of course, a black 3D stone!
I like these stones a lot! There are a few different shapes, including tear drops and even a heart. Unfortunately, my nails are a bit too small for a few of them. But they are definitely a lot of fun and I have some ideas in mind for future manicures!
You can get all three of these products at the Winstonia store here. You can even use the code NAILPOLISHCHALLENGE at checkout for 10% off your purchasev of any of the above products! (This code expires October 31st.) And, for the month of August, if you buy any 3D nail wheel, you'll get the nail glue for free!
Anyone have any ideas for another 3D stone manicure? Post them here!

Born Pretty Store Ku Ni Lacquer
Today I have a review for you from the always amazing Born Pretty Store, which as you know is my favorite place for nail art accessories. Well, I actually have some nail polish from them to show you guys!
This gorgeous microflake polish is called Ku Ni Lacquer, and I got it in #3.
On the nail, this color is a shimmery translucent rose color with a greenish gold tint. I love how delicate it looks!
I really like this polish alone. But... when you use it as a glitter topper over black......
It turns into this awesome greenish gold duochrome microgliter!! WOW!!
This is two coats of black with two coats of the Ku Ni Lacquer over it.
I love this color shift over black polish, but I have to admit that I love this polish on it's own. I wonder what it would look like over white or pink!
There are actually a ton of colors on the Born Pretty Store website, and all of them have the same deceptive quality! You can even get 10% off your entire purchase if you use the code RFL91 at checkout. And as always, there's free international shipping!

Dotticure With Elle Nail Lacquer
Today's nail art is inspired by one of my favorite nail blogs, Lucy's Stash. Her starfish dotticure is flawless, so I decided to do an inspired manicure!
I used a base color of OPI I Saw... You Saw... We Saw... Warsaw (this polish name is WAY too long!) and created the dots with Elle Riviera Blue.
I could definitely use some dotting practice - I can't imagine how other nail artists get them so perfect! But let's talk about this Elle Nail Lacquer -
Here is three coats of Riviera Blue on it's own. I got this gorgeous metallic blue polish from my boyfriend as a birthday gift, and I had never heard of the brand before. The color is great and opaque after two coats, but I added a third for good measure. It's probably perfect for stamping!
What do you think of this inspired dotticure? Do you own any Elle Nail Lacquer? Let me know in the comments!

Tie Dye Chevrons
Today's nail art is using more acrylic paint - I saw a really cute bathing suit that featured these really cute chevrons and I knew I had to recreate on my nails. The look is intentionally "messy", because the colors bled into each other on the print I saw!
I used an unnamed nude color from e.l.f. as a base, and then painted the colors using a tiny striper.
Simple, but cute! What do you think?

Autumn Leopard and Striped Manicure
Today's manicure is a great manicure for the impending autumn. I love summer, but I'm excited for all these dark fall-inspired colors and manicures, so I decided to create one for today's look.
I used a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff. The color on my detail nail is a Clinique polish I got as a bonus, I don't think it's named. I created the leopard print using acrylic paint.
I think these colors and patterns are great for fall. What do you think?

Sonic the Hedgehog Nail Art
I decided it was about time to give freehand nail art another try, so I decided to paint Sonic the Hedgehog on my nails!
I know the photo quality is worse than usual - I actually use my dad's xray lightbox to take my pictures, but he needed it this weekend! Haha. So inconvenient.
Anyway, I bought some acrylic paint from Michael's and went crazy with them. Most of these colors are mixed from the ones I bought!
Should I keep trying freehand art? Or do you prefer my classic nail art? Let me know!

Fing'rs Nail Tattoos Review
Hey guys, yesterday I picked up this cool looking kit from Walmart by Fing'rs. Walmart has really stepped up their nail polish game, but I haven't seen much in terms of reviews, so I picked up just this one - it's a nail tattoo kit, which is pretty much just a water decal kit (you've seen me use water decals before.) This particular kit comes with three different patterns of transfer paper and two base polishes.
(Enjoy this crappy photo I took of the kit. There's a neutral beige color and a darker gray, and the three decals include a newspaper type print, some colorful chevrons, and a subway map.)
(Enjoy this crappy photo I took of the kit. There's a neutral beige color and a darker gray, and the three decals include a newspaper type print, some colorful chevrons, and a subway map.)
I tried the subway map decal, and it turned out pretty well! I didn't use the provided polishes though; I went with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls just to make the decal pop. The directions were pretty simple - just use the decals like a temporary tattoo. When your base color is completely dry, dip the decal in water and press it onto your nails for a couple seconds. When you peel off the backing, the decal will remain on the nails.
This was my first experience with a full nail decal, and I think I did pretty well - this kit is designed for everyone, so it doesn't take much to have a cool design on the nails!
I can't find a link to purchase the kit on Walmart's website, but you can buy it here on Amazon for $9.99. I think it was a couple bucks cheaper through Walmart though, so it might be worth taking a drive there! Walmart also has some new kits with flocking powder, glitter, and other nail accessories. Have you bought any of them? Let me know what you think!

Computer Chip Nails
Today's nails were totally random - I was just searching for something when I came across this illustration by Chris Haines and I knew I had to recreate this style on my nails.
I used a base of Essie No More Film, and I used white acrylic paint to draw out the design. I then painted with Essie Bottle Service, China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle, and China Glaze That's Shore Bright.
It's not perfect, but I want to keep practicing my freehand skills!

Konad Plate M94 Review from Nail Polish Canada (and Giveaway!)
Today, I have a review of one of the new Konad stamping plates from Nail Polish Canada. I've heard great things about this site and I am not disappointed! Since I'm from New Jersey, I figured it would take a while for this to ship, but it got to me surprisingly quickly!
Anyway, here is the plate M94 -
You can find this stamping plate here. I have to say, I love all these designs. I think I could use them all! But I decided to go for the cartoony flowers for my review.
I used Pipe Dream Polish Life Divine on all my nails except for my detail nail, which was a base of Essie Rock the Boat. I stamped using OPI Unfor-Greta-bly Blue. (You can buy Pipe Dream Polish here.)
I loved the look of my detail nail so much that I decided to take off the other polish and do all my nails the same way!
Doesn't this look cool? I love Konad plates because they are etched really deep, making it easy for your design to pick up. I used to have a lot of trouble stamping when I first started, but I find it to be a lot easier. Here are a few tips:
1. Use top coat on your nail before you stamp. This way, if you make any mistakes, you can do a quick swipe with some remover and it won't take off the polish under the top coat.
2. Use this stamper. I used to use the double sided stamper, and it was much more difficult to use! I find that the smaller one picks up better and is easier to handle.
3. Always clean your plates and your scraper when you are done. If you leave your scraper dirty, it might mess up future stamping attempts!
4. My general rule is to stamp darker color onto lighter color, and for stamping, always use a color that can be opaque in one coat.
5. ALWAYS make sure your nails are COMPLETELY dry before you stamp! Otherwise, you'll just smudge the whole nail.
Hope these tips are helpful. Any questions? Ask 'em here!
BONUS: Nail Polish Canada is hosting a giveaway! You can win all five of the new Konad stamping plates. Unfortunately, this is for Canadian customers only. All you have to do is enter your email address here (click the yellow text) and you are automatically entered. The giveaway runs until September 15th. Make sure you read the rules before you enter!

Pipe Dream Polish Promise the World Swatch and Review
Today I have a polish from an indie brand called Pipe Dream Polish. I saw some of these polishes on Instagram and was immediately drawn to them! I got a few, but today I'm going to review this glitter topper, Promise the World.
Promise the World is a glitter packed with turquoise, blue, purple, and white hexes of varying sizes.
To showcase this fun glitter, I used a base of Colour Gossip Bora Bora. On my detail nail, I made some roses using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Colour Gossip Bora Bora, Essie No More Film, and China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard.
Obviously I had to mattify it!
I love how this glitter looks matte! What do you think of this color?
You can find Pipe Dream Polish on Etsy, or follow them on Facebook for news and updates. Polishes range from $7-$8.

Cool Gradient with Blue Neon Studs
I recently got some sponges for doing gradient nails, and I've been practicing a lot! Today's manicure is more of that practice -
I started with a base coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, which is a cool toned white. Then, I sponged on China Glaze That's Shore Bright, China Glaze Tart-y For the Party, and ORLY Snowcone. On my detail nail, I painted Essie Licorice.
Then, I mattified it and added some 2mm neon blue studs from Born Pretty Store. You can find them here, and use the code RFL91 at checkout for 10% off your entire order.
I am so pleased with how this turned out! What do you think? Would you like a tutorial on how to do a gradient?

Stamping and Studs with OPI Bogota Blackberry
When I picked up this gorgeous cool toned red nail polish from OPI, I knew I had to stamp with it.
OPI Bogota Blackberry is the perfect cranberry red shimmer. This manicure might be suitable for Christmas, haha! But I love it.
I used ORLY Soul Mate as a base for my stamping, and then stamped on with Borgota Blackberry and plate BM 305. Of course I had to mattify it!
I love the way this color looks mattified - almost velvety! I also applied silver studs from Born Pretty Store - you can find those here. Use the code RFL91 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!
This stud formation was inspired by this gorgeous New Year's manicure by Spektor's Nails. She really is creative with applying studs!

Yellow Gradient Nails!
Today's manicure is a simple gradient -
For the gradient, I used Colour Gossip Designer Shades as a base and blended using a sponge with L'Oreal Mango Mamma and Julep Rose. I painted my other nails with Essie Licorice.
I wish I had some gold studs to accent this mani with! But unfortunately all my studs and accents are silver :P What do you think of this gradient? I'm pretty proud of it!
