Konad Plate M94 Review from Nail Polish Canada (and Giveaway!)

Today, I have a review of one of the new Konad stamping plates from Nail Polish Canada. I've heard great things about this site and I am not disappointed! Since I'm from New Jersey, I figured it would take a while for this to ship, but it got to me surprisingly quickly!

Anyway, here is the plate M94 -

You can find this stamping plate here. I have to say, I love all these designs. I think I could use them all! But I decided to go for the cartoony flowers for my review.

I used Pipe Dream Polish Life Divine on all my nails except for my detail nail, which was a base of Essie Rock the Boat. I stamped using OPI Unfor-Greta-bly Blue. (You can buy Pipe Dream Polish here.)

I loved the look of my detail nail so much that I decided to take off the other polish and do all my nails the same way!

Doesn't this look cool? I love Konad plates because they are etched really deep, making it easy for your design to pick up. I used to have a lot of trouble stamping when I first started, but I find it to be a lot easier. Here are a few tips:

1. Use top coat on your nail before you stamp. This way, if you make any mistakes, you can do a quick swipe with some remover and it won't take off the polish under the top coat.
2. Use this stamper. I used to use the double sided stamper, and it was much more difficult to use! I find that the smaller one picks up better and is easier to handle.
3. Always clean your plates and your scraper when you are done. If you leave your scraper dirty, it might mess up future stamping attempts!
4. My general rule is to stamp darker color onto lighter color, and for stamping, always use a color that can be opaque in one coat.
5. ALWAYS make sure your nails are COMPLETELY dry before you stamp! Otherwise, you'll just smudge the whole nail.

Hope these tips are helpful. Any questions? Ask 'em here!

BONUS: Nail Polish Canada is hosting a giveaway! You can win all five of the new Konad stamping plates. Unfortunately, this is for Canadian customers only. All you have to do is enter your email address here (click the yellow text) and you are automatically entered. The giveaway runs until September 15th. Make sure you read the rules before you enter!

My Very First Konad Manicure!

SO, today I begrudgingly drove my boyfriend to some bar in the mall, and as I was walking to Sephora to check out some nail polish, I saw a strange kiosk out of the corner of my eye. And guess what it was -------- A KONAD KIOSK!

I freaked out and immediately bought 3 plates, a red nail polish, and a new stamper and scraper and I am shocked and amazed at how great the quality is!

Here is my first "Konadicure" using m60 -

I used Colour Gossip Bora Bora as a base and used Konad Black for stamping.

Let me just say that I am generally pretty awful at stamping but Konad plates made it SO much easier!

What do you guys think? What's your favorite stamping plate brand?

Valentine's Day Mani Fail - Argyle Print

I envisioned today's manicure to be a sweet girly argyle print for Valentine's Day, but it turned out like this:

As you can see, it came out a bit.. (excuse my language) sluttier than expected. This kind of looks like a punk rock schoolgirl fantasy to me! Haha!

Anyway, I used China Glaze Designer Satin and Sinful Colors Heavy Metal, and then Konad White for the kiss.

Let me know what you think of this manicure!

Let It Snow! Water Marble

Today I have some fun wintery water marble nail art for you all!

I know I have been slacking on the nail art (and basically the nails in general!) but I'm getting back into the groove of things now that finals are over and the holiday rush has calmed.

This wintery water marble was done using OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, China Glaze For Audrey, and Sinful Colors Heavy Metal. I topped it off with various snowflake stamps and Konad White Polish.

PS - guess what my lovely boyfriend got for me!! He got me the entire OPI Liquid Sand collection (swatches coming soon) and he MADE me an awesome rotating nail polish rack!

OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest With Konad Stamping!

I know I am so late with the OPI Germany collection, but I pretty much have all of them! And guess what else I purchased today? Black and white Konad polish!

So here is Every Month is Oktoberfest with some lovely white Konad stamping polish:

This color is gorgeous! It looks black in some light, purple in some, and even a beautiful dark red in direct light!

Here is a closeup of the color on my nail and in the bottle. I couldn't get the red shimmer to come out on my nails in the lightbox, but it's defnitely there!

My stamping isn't perfect but I am so excited to start stamping with real Konad polish.
