31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0, Day 2: Yellow or Green

Moving right along with the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2.0! Today is the second day of the challenge, and the prompt is "yellow or green." I decided to go with green, and of course, the first thing I thought of was plants! I wanted to try something that represented branches or leaves, but in an abstract way. This is what I came up with:

To achieve this look, I started with a base of KBShimmer How You Dune? from their new Fall 2014 collection. Then, I took a small nail art brush and drew my little branches using Zoya Tilda. I topped it all off with matte top coat.

Originally, I planned for the branches to be more subtle against the beige base color, but I think it turned out pretty nicely. I really like not having to worry about uniformity on all of my nails, so it was fun to be able to draw lines as randomly as I wanted to!

I think it's also pretty interesting to see what I can come up with using green nail polish - it's definitely not a common color for me to reach for, and it doesn't seem to get much attention in the nail art world, but I actually had a ton of ideas before I settled on this abstract design. I might have to incorporate green into some future nail art in this challenge!

Here is a visual of the colors I used.
