Renaissance Cosmetics: Sweet & Sassy Duo Swatches + Review

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I have a lovely polish duo to share with you today from Renaissance Cosmetics; these polishes were released for Valentine's Day but I personally think they're beautiful to wear year round.

The Sweet & Sassy Duo consists of two glitter toppers - one for the sweet side, and one with a bit of sass! As is expected of Renaissance Cosmetics, these polishes are unlike any I own. The especially cool part of these is the inclusion of multichrome flake glitters for that extra pop of excitement and color. (You'll see the depth of these in my close ups!) I think it's really impressive to see the multichrome flakes used in such a unique way, since other brands are keeping their multichrome flake polishes very basic. Anyway, let's have a look:

Sugar and Spice is the "sweet" half of the duo, and its a beautiful delicate glitter topper featuring a ton of satin white and holographic rose glitters in various sizes including smaller square glitters, as well as multichrome flakes. I paired this with Color Club Seal it With A Kiss, and I think the combination looks so pretty together! Very effeminate. And shown above is just one coat, no fishing or dabbing required.

Here is a close up in the bottle and on the nail. Look at the depth of all those flakes! I just love it.

Next we have the "sassy" half of the duo, Sassy With A Vengeance, which is a glitter topper featuring matte black and holographic fuchsia glitters in hexes and squares, as well as multichrome flakes. This polish is so badass! It's the exact opposite of the "sweet" glitter! I paired it with Color Club Tall Dark & Handsome and I think it really shows off all the color and sparkle in this glitter topper. Shown above is one coat, no fishing or dabbing required.

Here is a close up in the bottle and on the nail. Again, the multichrome flakes really bring a unique addition to this polish. I think this would look awesome over white as well! I can see myself wearing this any time of year.

I couldn't resist taking brush shots of these polishes, since they absolutely sparkled in the light. I just love the combination of glitters, and how these two polishes are total opposites but come together perfectly for this duo. Overall, I think it's safe to say I'm in love!

These shades are available from Renaissance Cosmetics for $10 CAD each (which is about $8 USD!). Don't forget, my readers can use the code "nailpolishchallenge15" for 15% off any order of $12 or more (valid until 2/22/15.)

  3. These are pretty colors! I'm not a huge fan of this brand because their glitters always give me hard time when applying. Hopefully the formula has gotten better because these are really great colors.

  6. Oh no! I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with Renaissance Cosmetics. I definitely welcome feedback as it helps me to make better polishes and an overall stronger product. Recently I've switched to wider brushes, which are nice for picking up more glitter. If you want to let me know what glitter polishes you tried and what the exact issue was, you can email me at info@renaissancecosmetics.com.

  7. What a nice offer Meghan! It's so nice to see that have introduced a wider brush. I think these glitters are super pretty so I definitely think the wider brush will help with application. It's also super refreshing to see that you read your swatchers comments! I love that as a fan

  8. I love both of these and I like that they aren't excessively Valentine's Day-ish, and can be worn year round, like you said!

  10. Thanks for your comment. I am glad to see that RenCos has addressed this issue - with her incredible customer service, Meghan should be able to fix any issues you may have :) Out of curiousity, which polishes do you have trouble with? I own most of their glitters and I have never had an issue before!

  14. I had 2 old school ones I got in a grab bag over the summer. They were VDay polishes from last year, I think. So, still when the shop was pretty new. I've heard great things about CS but I'm not worried about it since they were in a grab bag. I may just have to try out the NEW brushes now!! 😉 thanks ladies!
