Valentines Day Manicure #2: Pink Ikat Print

Two days in a row? I am on a roll! I am really trying to make an effort to paint my nails every day - no promises, though.

Today's V-Day themed manicure is a pink Ikat print. I used Kayla Shevonne's tutorial to help me out:

It was surprisingly easy to do! I used China Glaze Designer Satin and Seduce Me for the pink, and the white and black was done using Finger Paints striping tools.

It's not perfect, but that is the beauty of Ikat print - it doesn't have to look symmetrical!

Would you rock this for Valentine's Day?

My First Winter Manicure of the Year!

Today's manicure was inspired by the wintery weather outside! I bought a couple bottles from the China Glaze Holiday Collection - including Glistening Snow.

I am so in love with this color! It is definitely a top coat eater - this is three coats with 2 coats of top coat and it's still pretty grainy, but I like the effect.

It really does look snowy - the best part is in direct light when it looks like this:

Look at all that holographic goodness! Totally in love.

I decided to make a big glitter manicure so I added Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat and this pretty Confetti glitter that I found (with no name!)

Still not the best at glitter gradients but I think it's festive!

Mermaid Scales! Nail Art

Today I received in the mail my long awaited dotting tools! As expected, the five tools really didn't differ too much but all I was looking for was a bigger dotting tool to work with, and I promptly painted my nails and designed them as per little nails' tutorial.

After three nails, I'd had enough of it so I decided, heck! Why not make them my accent nails.

Base is Sinful Colors Savage, and the dots are made of CG Platinum Silver, CG For Audrey, OPI What The Shrek Are You Talking About, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, and Finger Paints something-or other (if you would really like to know, just ask and I'll go check but I'm too lazy right now!)

Making the dots the correct size was a lot harder than I thought, I guess because some of the colors I chose were a bit watery.

Also, I have some (somewhat) good news! My internship ends next week so I will have plenty of time to paint my nails and blog about them. And my new Bundle Monster stamps have come in! Stay tuned for some of those this weekend.
