Live Love Polish: Colores de Carol Exclusive Shades

- PROVIDED FOR REVIEW -

Hi guys! Hope you've all had a great weekend. Today I'm sharing with you four exclusive new shades from retailer Live Love Polish and Colores de Carol. These four limited edition polishes are holographic microglitters inspired by famous characters.

Since these glitters might be difficult to get to full opacity on their own, it's recommended that you pair these over a similar base color, and sponge on the glitter. That's how I swatched all four of the shades - however, if you're looking for a sparse glitter look, you can definitely paint these on as you normally would a glitter topper!

The first in this set is Dexter, which is described as a pinkish red holographic microglitter. I would definitely classify this shade as a pink, though! Shown above is one sponged coat over Laqa & Co Gryffandor, with top coat.

Here's a close up in the bottle and on the nail.

Next up is Don Draper, which is a holographic lavender microglitter. Again, I sponged this one over a similar base but I definitely think I should have gone with a lighter purple to match this shade. Shown above over China Glaze Grape Pop, with top coat.

Here is a close up in the bottle and on the nail. I think I was a bit too sparse with sponging this one on, unfortunately!

Harvey Specter is my favorite in the collection, a rich blue holographic microglitter. This one definitely mesmerized me in the bottle, and it looks so deep and alluring on the nails. Shown is one coat sponged over Zoya Ryan with two coats of top coat.

And finally we have Gatsby, a bright lime green holographic microglitter. I also loved this shade, and it's bright and cheery enough to wear through the summer! Shown above is one coat sponged over Zoya Tilda, with top coat.

Overall, I'm feeling a bit indecisive about this collection. On the one hand, I think the glitters aren't too original, and I'm not sold on the first two shades. But on the other hand, I really think Harvey Specter and Gatsby are such beautiful colors, and I'm really happy to have them in my stash. I can definitely see myself using all four of these for glitter placement, since I really love using glitter from a polish rather than loose dry glitter. But I will definitely be reaching for the green and blue glitters first - I would love to try them in a gradient!

You can purchase this collection as a set for $39 USD exclusively on Live Love Polish's website here, or individually for $12 USD each here.

What do you think of the collection? Hit or miss?

  6. Your picks are my favorite exactly! But other than that I'm not too interested in the others because I'm too lazy to sponge glitter on haha. Since they're sparse I bet they would be great in a jelly sandwich too.
