Color Club Seven Deadly Sins Collection Swatches and Review

Hi guys! Today I'm reviewing the Color Club Seven Deadly Sins Collection, which I got from HB Beauty Bar. This collection consists of seven lightly textured polishes with a ton of sparkle, that are inspired by the seven deadly sins. As far as textured polishes go, these were extremely easy to work with (they reminded me a lot of the original Pixie Dust formula by Zoya!) and the colors are beautiful.

This is my first time reviewing Color Club polishes, even though they've been around for quite a while, and I have to say, I was really impressed! I love their bottles, and the caps have this cool sort of matte finish - and of course, I really liked the colors! I skipped the top coat for these swatches, so you can get the full textured effect. Let's take a closer look:

Indulge Me is a burnt orange textured polish with a ton of gold and pink sparkle. I'm not a huge fan of orange, and I didn't think I would like this one, but I ended up surprising myself because I really enjoy it! It almost looks like leather, and I think it would look awesome to wear in the fall (with dark jeans and leather boots, of course!) Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Dirty Money is a glamorous champagne gold textured polish that features small hex glitters in the same color. Can we talk about how much I love this one?! The color is perfection - it feels so luxurious! I am loving colors like this for the winter months, and I think this one would be perfect to wear for the New Year. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Friends With Benefits is a pale lavender textured polish that features small hex glitters in the same color. This one is very similar to Dirty Money, with the tone-on-tone glitter combination and the high sparkle. It's another gorgeous color, and I think this one will be perfect for winter as well! Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Under Your Spell is a unique blend of color and glitter - a dark periwinkle base, with gold shimmer and small lavender hex glitters make up this textured polish. And the name is appropriate, because this polish is mesmerizing! I really have nothing like this polish in my collection, and I think it's a beautiful color. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

You're So Vain is a deep blackened purple textured polish that features gold and fuchsia shimmer. This is another stunning and unique combination of color, and I think the texture on this one is perfect! (You can really see why these reminded me of the Pixie Dusts.) Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Fierce is a black textured polish with a multichrome shimmer that has color shifts in pink, red, orange, and yellow. This color is so pretty, and it can satiate both your textured and your multichrome desires at the same time! I couldn't really catch the color shift on my nails, but if you look at the bottle, you can see the orange and gold shimmer coming out. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

And finally, we have Obessed, a black textured polish with slight multichrome shimmer that shifts from turquoise, to blue, to purple. This one was very similar to Fierce, and the prominent turquoise shimmer is stunning. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Overall, I am literally in love with this collection! My first experience with Color Club has definitely been a pleasant one, and I can only hope that they come out with more textured polishes, because the formulas on these were spot on! I'm not sure I can pick out favorites, since I really enjoyed all of the colors in this collection.

And you'll love the price of these - this collection is available from HB Beauty Bar for $3.95 USD each (I know, I know! Textured polishes for less than $4?!! Insanity!), and you can use the code POLISHCHALLENGE at checkout for an additional 15% off your entire order.

Which of these colors is your favorite?

Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust Fall 2014 Swatches and Review

I have loved the textured nail polish trend ever since it started to pop up, and Zoya is definitely one of the best (in my opinion!) with their Pixie Dust polishes, which dry to a rough, sandpaper finish. This season, they've created a new variety of textured polishes called Ultra Pixie Dust - this finish is somewhere between their original Pixie Dust formula, and their grittier Magical Pixie Dust formula, and I love it!

This collection consists of three textured polishes in varying shades of red and purple. They are similar in the bottle, but they look completely unique on the nails. These colors seem perfect for the cold weather - they are vibrant and bold enough to warm anyone up! When I first saw swatches of these polishes, I was not sure how I felt, but seeing them on my nails made me realize that they are beautiful, and I hope my photos do them justice! Let's take a look:

Oswin is a clear favorite to me - a bright, ruby red polish that dries to a rough, textured finish. To get this look, I carefully painted on each coat and waited for the layer to completely dry before moving onto the next, and I skipped the top coat. (Of course, you can add top coat for a super sparkly finish!) This polish is just so eye-catching! Shown above is three thin, careful coats over base coat.

Arianna is a slightly darker red with a cool tone that dries to a rough, textured finish. This polish was more jelly-like than Oswin, so I found that the texture didn't look as dry or sandpaper-y. Shown above is three thin, careful coats over base coat - no top coat!

And finally we have Noir, a dark plum that dries to a rough, textured finish. This was the most jelly-like of them all, and the more layers I painted on, the deeper the purple base showed. I love how it looks almost black in the photo above! Where the other two polishes featured red glitters, I noticed that this one had pink glitter as well. I imagine that this color would look especially beautiful with top coat!

Overall, I really enjoyed this new formula (better than the Magical Pixie Dusts!), although I wish they all had the same formula as Oswin, which just dried so beautifully. Hopefully Zoya can continue to tweak this formula to perfection, because I am in love with these textured polishes.

The Ultra Pixie Dust polishes are available from Zoya for $10 USD each. Be sure to follow Zoya on Facebook for news and information.

What do you think of these textured polishes? Which Pixie Dust formula is your favorite?

KBShimmer 6th Anniversary Celebration Trio Swatches and Review

Hey all, today I've got swatches of the KBShimmer Anniversary Trio, in celebration of their sixth year of business. This collection consists of three bright, beach-themed polishes - two creams, and one shimmery textured polish.

I really love how this trio matches itself perfectly - the two creams come together as glitters in the textured polish, and the colors look just gorgeous next to each other. Along with this trio, KBShimmer has released a few new beachy nail vinyl decals. Anyway, let's look at the polishes individually:

Beach Please is an eye searing neon pink cream, with a surprisingly incredible formula. I say surprising because polishes that are this bright, always have a chalky formula, or dry to a matte finish (or both!) and yet somehow, this formula is flawless and dries to a shiny finish without top coat. Of course, I added top coat for my photo though! This is a great summer color, so you'll want to pick it up before the weather gets warm again. Shown above is three thin coats (although two is enough for those of you with shorter nails - I just found a bit of visible nail line before I added the third coat), over KBShimmer Basic Training base coat, with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top quick dry top coat.

Shore Thing is a beautiful, bright turquoise cream that leans slightly green. This color is stunning, and it applied easily - however, the formula in itself isn't what I've become accustomed to with KBShimmer. The polish seems a tad bit chalky, and there are sparse clumps of dark blue unmixed pigment in my batch. I accidentally got one on my brush during my second coat, and my nails looked streaky before I added my third coat. Hopefully it's just this one batch though! Shown above is three thin coats over KBShimmer Basic Training base coat, with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top quick dry top coat.

Hexy Bikini is an eye-catching silver based textured polish that dries to a textured finish. This one is a stunner! It features a ton of holographic glitters in silver, as well as in sparse hot pink and turquoise, to match the other colors in the collection. Even without sunlight, this polish sparkles unbelieveably - if you're looking for a polish that demands attention, this is your color! The formula is as expected for a textured polish, rather thick, but it's fairly easy to apply. Shown above is two thin coats, over KBShimmer Basic Training base coat, without top coat to show off the textured finish.

This collection will be available starting August 1st, and the polishes will retail individually for $7.50 USD for the creams and $8.75 for the texture - or $21 USD for the trio. I should also note that all orders on KBShimmer's website in the month of August will come with a free sample of nail vinyl decals! Don't forget to follow KBShimmer on Facebook and Instagram for news and updates.

And of course, you can find my Instagram page here, where I will also be posting all of my swatches!

What do you think of this collection? Are you planning on picking up any of them?

Zoya Magical Pixie Summer 2014 Swatches

Hi guys! Today I've got the gorgeous Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Summer 2014 collection to show you! Anyone who loves textured nail polishes knows about Zoya's Pixie Dust polishes, which feature a fine sandpaper-y finish, and their even newer Magical Pixie formula, which features large chunks of glitter. Well, the new Magical Pixies are as gorgeous as ever - this collection contains three gorgeous textured polishes in various summery shades.

Here are the three polishes. I'm pleased to report that the formula of these new polishes are even better than the Spring 2014 Magical Pixies, and I'm more impressed with these colors.

Let's start with Arlo, a dark magenta pink textured polish packed with holographic glitters in various sizes.I love this one! It looks darker in the bottle than on the nail, but I do love the almost sheer effect it has on the nail. I think they almost look like crushed little seashells! Shown above is two coats, no top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail.

Next we have Ginni, a gorgeous pale dusty pink textured polish packed with holographic glitters in various sizes. Another gorgeous pink polish! Shown above is two coats, no top coat.

Here's a bottle shot and a closeup on the nail.

And finally, we have Bar, a gorgeous warm gold textured polish packed with holographic glitters in various sizes. This polish, like Arlo, is a bit sheer but looks gorgeous on the nail (and I'm sure it would look more opaque with more coats!) Shown above is two coats, no top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail.

Overall, I really enjoy these polishes, even though I disappointed to see that Zoya seems to have stopped making regular PixieDusts. I don't think I can pick a favorite out of these three - they're all so pretty, and the formulas are a breeze to apply. These colors are gorgeous (although a bit more fall appropriate than summer!) and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

All of these polishes are currently available on the Zoya website and in stores that sell Zoya, for $10 USD per bottle. Don't forget to follow Zoya on Facebook for news and promotions!

Born Pretty Store Studs and Nails Inc Leather Effect Nails

So when I went to my local Sephora this weekend and I saw that Nails Inc sells their Leather Effects polishes in several different colors now! I picked up a pale blue called Dalston and decided to make some nail art and pair it with these circular studs I got from Born Pretty Store to review.

Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like studs so I had to take photos with my phone!

The leather effect polish is so cool! I found that it does not work if you use base coat, and of course, if you want the effect to be textured like leather, you can't use top coat either. Shown is two thin coats on each nail. Originally, the leather polishes were available in kits with studs for $25, but you can get the polish alone in any color for $11.

My ring finger started with a couple coats of black, and then I taped it off to add a stripe of Nails Inc Dalston and topped it with some studs.

Anyway, the studs are super cute and easy to manuver and you can buy them HERE. They're also really cheap, and you can use the discount code RFL91 at checkout for an additional 10% off and free shipping internationally.

Did anyone else pick up some leather polish? What did you think?
