Live Love Polish: Models Own Ice Neon Swatches and Nail Art

The weather has been pretty dreary and gray here in New Jersey for the last few days... so what better to do than paint my nails with crazy bright neon polishes?! The lovely ladies over at Live Love Polish sent me a few Models Own polishes from the Ice Neon collection to play with, and I had some fun pretending I was on a tropical island while I swatched ;) I also did some fun nail art!

These three polishes are super bright, but if you want them to really pop, you should layer them over a white base! Read on for more details:

Let's start with Bubblegum, a super bright hot pink neon with a surprisingly fabulous formula! Usually, neons tend to be a bit chalky or sheer - I found this color to not only be fully opaque, but also pretty shiny on its own. I layered two coats on its own, with top coat, but if you want the pink to be a bit more neon and cool toned, I suggest layering over white.

Pink Punch is a super bright orangey red polish. This one was slightly more sheer than Bubblegum, but it still reached full opacity in just two coats and the formula was totally easy to work with. Again, if you want this color to be brighter and more pink toned, you can layer it over white. Shown above is two coats with top coat.

And finally, we have Luis Lemon, the insanely bright, highlighter yellow cream! This one was extremely sheer and I couldn't build to opacity without a white base coat, so you're looking at one coat over white, plus top coat. I couldn't believe how bright this color was! It is a bit more green toned in person - it almost reminds me of a tennis ball!

I couldn't resist doing some tropical nail art to go with these colors:

Palm tree silhouettes, of course! I started by painting my nails white, and then I sponged on a few layers of Luis Lemon, Pink Punch, and Bubblegum. Then, I painted on the palm trees with black polish and a small nail art brush. I topped it all off with matte top coat!

These three polishes (and a bunch of others from Models Own) are available from Live Love Polish for $8.50 USD each, and you can use the discount code INEEDMORENAILPOLISH at checkout for 10% off your entire order!

What do you think of my fun palm tree nail art? Do you think it's appropriate to paint your nails with bright polish during the colder seasons?

These polishes were provided for my honest review.

Models Own Purple Blue Swatch

Hey guys, today's post is a simple swatch of a beautiful polish by Models Own that I had a friend purchase for me in London!

Look at this one! It's called Purple Blue and it's a serious sparkly multichrome that really shifts from blue to purple in different light, and even has some golden shimmer in it! Shown above is three coats. At first it went on a bit patchy but it evened out after a second coat and reached opacity at the third.

Look at all the color you can see in the bottle. This color probably looks stunning in the sunlight!

This is also my first experience with Models Own, and I have to say I'm pleased. They have a beautiful range of colors, which you can get at their website here, but unfortunately shipping is a bit steep in the US (it's almost 15 euros just for shipping, which is around 20 dollars) so if you have friends in London, take advantage! They have a shop in Westfield London Mall.
