HB Beauty Bar: Cuccio Accent Color Kit Swatches

You might remember that I recently reviewed a new-to-me brand called Cuccio Colour - I was a huge fan of the polishes and nail care products I tried out. Well, today I've got more to share! The Accent Colour Kit by Cuccio Colour is a set of two matching polishes for a flawless manicure with a sparkly accent nail. Not only are these polishes beautiful, but the formulas are amazing!

Here are the two colors that come in the kit. The intent here is to paint all your nails with the larger bottle, and then do an "accent nail" with the mini bottle for an extra pop of color and sparkle. These colors look beautiful together, but I decided to give you guys a full swatch of each so you could really see the polishes! Let's take a look:

Jamaica Me Crazy is a stunning creme polish that falls somewhere between lavender and periwinkle. It's absolutely lovely! I think colors like this can be worn any time of year. In the photo above, I am wearing one coat - that's right, you only need one coat of this creme for full opacity!

Illumination is a mesmerizing duochrome shimmer with intense blue and purple color shifts, as well as various metallic blue hex glitters. I layered two coats over Jamaica Me Crazy for the photo above, but it is completely opaque on its own! I normally wouldn't go for a color like this, but once I painted it onto my nails, I couldn't stop staring - it looks like an awesome polish for rocking at a nightclub.

For both swatches above, I used the dehydrator, base coat, top coat, and cuticle oil that I reviewed last time. I have been using the cuticle oil non-stop since I got it and not only have I barely even made a dent in the giant bottle, but my cuticles are as smooth and moisturized as ever! I don't think I will ever be able to use another cuticle oil again.

Here is the kit that the polishes come in. You can purchase it from HB Beauty Bar, and make sure you use the discount code POLISHCHALLENGE for 15% off your entire order.

If you'd like a chance at winning these polishes, you can head over to my Instagram page, where I am giving this set away to a random follower!

These polishes were provided for my honest review.

Delush Polish Scream Supreme Collection and Giveaway!

Today I've got a special treat for you all - a complete review of the American Horror Story inspired Delush Polish "Scream Supreme" Collection, and a chance to win all seven polishes! This post is going to be photo heavy, so bear with me!

The Scream Supreme collection is a set of seven glitter packed polishes inspired by the show American Horror Story. I love this collection because I am a huge fan of the show - last week was the 4th season premiere - but I think these vampy colors can be enjoyed by everyone, whether they watch AHS or not.

A note about the formulas: these polishes were slightly thick, so they require careful application and you might have to fish around for glitter. Since i have smaller nails, I appreciated the large variety of glitter sizes in these polishes - I was able to paint on layers without having to use a lot of large glitters (as some brands tend to really pack their polishes!), but I think the large glitters would look lovely on those of you with longer nails. It's almost like having two polishes in one! I also recommend storing these upside down if you want a larger glitter payoff, as the large circle glitters tended to sink to the bottom. Let's take a look at them individually:

Murder House, inspired by the first season of AHS, is a fully opaque black crelly with white and red glitters in various shapes and sizes, most notably large circle glitters. I love this color and I think it's portrays the show perfectly! This was one of the first polishes I tried from the collection, and I didn't think to let it sit upside down to grab more glitters, but I think the subtle glitter payoff is nice and mysterious. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. I just have a thing for black crellies - they always look so deep and mysterious to me! You can see in the bottle how many glitters you can grab if you shake it well before application.

Rubberman, also inspired by the first season of AHS, is a fully opaque black crelly that features subtle blue holographic hex glitters. I already know I'm going to overuse the word "mysterious" in this review, but that's how i feel about this polish! It is vampy and delightful, and I love the subtle sparkle of the glitters when it catches the light. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

Here is a closer look in the bottle and on the nail. Again, this was before I got smart enough to store the bottles upside down, but the glitter payoff was still pretty nice!

A Night at the Asylum is definitely a favorite in this collection for me - inspired by the second season of AHS, this blackened teal crelly is fully opaque and features a ton of turquoise holographic glitters in various sizes, including small and large circle glitters. I just love how mesmerizing the colors are! Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. Again, you can see how deep and layered this polish looks!

Misty Day is a swampy green jelly inspired by the third season of AHS, and is packed to the brim with glitters in various colors, shapes and sizes, most notably large circle glitters. This is such a unique polish, and I love the murky green color blended with the bright glitter. Definitely a good polish for Halloween! Shown above is three coats with top coat.

Can we just take a moment to obsess over the close up of the bottle?! Look at all those colors!

Bitchcraft is a fully opaque black crelly inspired by the third season of AHS and comes packed with hot pink and holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes, including large circles and small squares. I love how this polish is dark, but so girly! If I was a witch, I would rock this polish every day. Shown above is three coats with top coat.

Here is a close up in the bottle and on the nail.

The Supreme is a gorgeous vampy red jelly filled with holographic red and iridescent glitters in various sizes, inspired by the third season of AHS. Again, this is a definite favorite for me, as the color is perfect for fall! Shown above is three coats with top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. Perfection!

And finally, we have my absolute favorite of the bunch, inspired by the fourth (and the current!) season of American Horror Story, Freak Show Spectacle. It's a colorful microglitter in a purple jelly base, that totally brings to mind a circus! This polish applied smoothly and easily and it wasn't too rough even without top coat. The colors feel very "freak show"-y to me, but I can also see this being worn in the summer for the 4th of July, can't you?! Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. This one was by far my favorite application-wise, because it required no fishing or dabbing for a perfect amount of glitter.

Overall, I'm loving this collection (and not just because it was inspired by one of my favorite TV shows! Although I do think that the colors really emulated the show perfectly, and I instantly got attached to them.) The Delush Polish Scream Supreme collection can be purchased at their online shop for $8.95 USD each for full sized 15mL bottles, or $4.50 USD each for mini 5mL sized bottles. You can also purchase the entire collection for $56 (full size) or $28 (mini size).

Ikat Skittle using BornPrettyStore Studs... And A Giveaway! (3 Winners!)

Hi guys! Today I've got this super cute ikat skittle to show you:

To achieve this look, I started with a base of Essie Serial Shopper on my outer two nails, Essie Urban Jungle on my middle nail, and KBShimmer Eclipse on my ring finger. Then, I drew the ikat design with my new Simply Spoiled nail art pens (in black and white), and a bit of Essie Serial Shopper. I topped the outer two nails with these holographic studs from Born Pretty Store. (See below for a giveaway, sponsored by BPS!)

I love these studs because they're super flat on the nail - I was able to easily top them with top coat and they didn't pop off at all! And, having the nail art pens made is easy to create this ikat design without dirtying a bunch of nail art brushes.

This color scheme was actually inspired by an ikat print on a pair of pants my coworker wore today, but on the nails, I think it reminds me of a tiger. I just love ikat designs because they can really be done in any color.

Here's the polishes I used for this manicure. (The Essie's are from HB Beauty Bar!) The nail art pens from Simply Spoiled retail as a two-pack for $7.99 USD, and they double as dotting tools - you can buy them here.

Ciate Colourfoil Kit Giveaway!

Hey everyone! Hope you all enjoyed my last giveaway. I had so much fun that I decided to host another! I bought a Ciaté Very Colourfoil Kit for myself and I enjoyed it so much that I purchased another for one lucky follower.

The kit contains one full sized bottle of nail polish, 30 foil sheets in 6 different colors, nail glue, and a blank nail wheel for testing out new designs!

First, I will show you photos of the nail art looks I achieved with this kit:

This first look is an edgy and bold manicure that may look complicated, but it is super easy! I used two coats of the provided base color, Ciaté Pepperminty - which is a gorgeous mint color that applied flawlessly. Once that was completely dry, I applied a thin layer of nail blue and stuck on the blue and pink nail foils that were provided in the kit. The instructions in the kit say to add top coat, but I find that the top coat dulls the nail foil.

The second look is a more elegant, muted manicure. I used Ciaté Pepperminty for this manicure as well, and then once it was completely dry, I applied nail glue to the tip of my nail and used silver nail foil to create a French tip.

Isn't is awesome that you can have such totally different looks using the same kit? And these are just two ideas! Please note - the kit I am giving away is slightly different in that the base color is Ciaté Kiss Chase, not Pepperminty, as shown above. (I just loved both colors so much!)

Now, onto the rules of this giveaway:
You MUST be following me via Google Friend Connect or Bloglovin'.

This contest is for residents of the US only - sorry guys, but I bought this kit with my own money and I am paying for the shipping as well.

Once a winner is selected, I will verify all entries of that winner. If any of the entries are invalid, the winner will be disqualified and the next winner will be chosen. Please provide a valid email address, as that is how I will be contacting you. You will have 48 hours to respond.

You must be 18 years of age or have parental consent to participate in this contest. If you are under 18, please have a parent confirm your entry by sending an email to contact@thenailpolishchallenge.com.
