Today I've got a special treat for you all - a complete review of the American Horror Story inspired
Delush Polish "Scream Supreme" Collection, and a chance to win all seven polishes! This post is going to be photo heavy, so bear with me!
The
Scream Supreme collection is a set of seven glitter packed polishes inspired by the show
American Horror Story. I love this collection because I am a huge fan of the show - last week was the 4th season premiere - but I think these vampy colors can be enjoyed by everyone, whether they watch AHS or not.
A note about the formulas: these polishes were slightly thick, so they require careful application and you might have to fish around for glitter. Since i have smaller nails, I appreciated the large variety of glitter sizes in these polishes - I was able to paint on layers without having to use a lot of large glitters (as some brands tend to really pack their polishes!), but I think the large glitters would look lovely on those of you with longer nails. It's almost like having two polishes in one! I also recommend storing these upside down if you want a larger glitter payoff, as the large circle glitters tended to sink to the bottom. Let's take a look at them individually:
Murder House, inspired by the first season of AHS, is a fully opaque black crelly with white and red glitters in various shapes and sizes, most notably large circle glitters. I love this color and I think it's portrays the show perfectly! This was one of the first polishes I tried from the collection, and I didn't think to let it sit upside down to grab more glitters, but I think the subtle glitter payoff is nice and mysterious. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.
Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. I just have a thing for black crellies - they always look so deep and mysterious to me! You can see in the bottle how many glitters you can grab if you shake it well before application.
Rubberman, also inspired by the first season of AHS, is a fully opaque black crelly that features subtle blue holographic hex glitters. I already know I'm going to overuse the word "mysterious" in this review, but that's how i feel about this polish! It is vampy and delightful, and I love the subtle sparkle of the glitters when it catches the light. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.
Here is a closer look in the bottle and on the nail. Again, this was before I got smart enough to store the bottles upside down, but the glitter payoff was still pretty nice!
A Night at the Asylum is definitely a favorite in this collection for me - inspired by the second season of AHS, this blackened teal crelly is fully opaque and features a ton of turquoise holographic glitters in various sizes, including small and large circle glitters. I just love how mesmerizing the colors are! Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.
Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. Again, you can see how deep and layered this polish looks!
Misty Day is a swampy green jelly inspired by the third season of AHS, and is packed to the brim with glitters in various colors, shapes and sizes, most notably large circle glitters. This is such a unique polish, and I love the murky green color blended with the bright glitter. Definitely a good polish for Halloween! Shown above is three coats with top coat.
Can we just take a moment to obsess over the close up of the bottle?! Look at all those colors!
Bitchcraft is a fully opaque black crelly inspired by the third season of AHS and comes packed with hot pink and holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes, including large circles and small squares. I love how this polish is dark, but so girly! If I was a witch, I would rock this polish every day. Shown above is three coats with top coat.
Here is a close up in the bottle and on the nail.
The Supreme is a gorgeous vampy red jelly filled with holographic red and iridescent glitters in various sizes, inspired by the third season of AHS. Again, this is a definite favorite for me, as the color is perfect for fall! Shown above is three coats with top coat.
Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. Perfection!
And finally, we have my absolute favorite of the bunch, inspired by the fourth (and the current!) season of American Horror Story,
Freak Show Spectacle. It's a colorful microglitter in a purple jelly base, that totally brings to mind a circus! This polish applied smoothly and easily and it wasn't too rough even without top coat. The colors feel very "freak show"-y to me, but I can also see this being worn in the summer for the 4th of July, can't you?! Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.
Here is a closeup in the bottle and on the nail. This one was by far my favorite application-wise, because it required no fishing or dabbing for a perfect amount of glitter.
Overall, I'm loving this collection (and not just because it was inspired by one of my favorite TV shows! Although I do think that the colors really emulated the show perfectly, and I instantly got attached to them.) The
Delush Polish Scream Supreme collection can be purchased at
their online shop for $8.95 USD each for full sized 15mL bottles, or $4.50 USD each for mini 5mL sized bottles. You can also purchase the entire collection for $56 (full size) or $28 (mini size).
