HB Beauty Bar: Color Club Love Tahiry Collection Review

Hi guys! I know I've been absent on the blog for a few days, but life just got in the way and I had absolutely no time to sit at my computer and edit my photos, even though I do have a ton of swatches to share with you all! Anyway, today I have to show you the Love Tahiry Collection by Color Club, a set of seven Valentine's Day themed polishes designed by Tahiry Jose (I don't know who she is, but a quick Google search tells me she's an actress!) I know Valentine's Day has passed but, these polishes seem appropriate for any time of year to me.

In this collection, there are five cremes, one full coverage microglitter, and a heart shaped glitter topper. The exciting feature of all of these shades is that they are scented! Each polish features a different scent that goes with the color. For the most part, I couldn't differentiate each scent until I read what they were supposed to smell like (they mostly just smelled very sweet to me), but it's definitely a unique aspect to a polish. If you're nervous about scented polish, don't worry - I hardly noticed the scents after I applied my top coat. Anyway, the formulas on all of these were great and I will be reaching for the cremes a lot in the future.

On Cloud Nine is a white creme with a "white chocolate" scent. Something about this shade feels very marshmallow-y to me! It was pretty sheer on the first coat, but fully opaque on the second, and it has a squishy jelly-like feel to it. A beautiful palette cleanser, and a great white to have! Shown above is two coats with top coat.

Seal It With A Kiss is a peachy pink creme with a "strawberry" scent. This formula was super creamy and nice, easily opaque in two coats. I also really like this shade of pink on my skin tone! Shown above is two coats with top coat. (You might remember this shade as the base of my recent polka dot manicure.)

Red-Handed is a classic red creme with a "cinnamon" scent. A perfect shade of red for anytime of year, with another great formula. Be careful not to let this one get under your cuticles, because it will stain them (then again, so will any red polish!) Shown above is two easy coats with top coat. (I used this shade to make the roses in my recent houndstooth manicure!)

50 Shades of Love is a white and red heart glitter topper with a "candy" scent. My biggest issue with this glitter is that the red hearts seem to be fading and leaving red specks in the base. I did like the specks at first because I thought they were intentional (they kind of look cool against the pink base color I chose!), but then I realized that the red hearts were spotty. I did paint these on like any other polish (no dabbing), but if you want a more precise placement, you'll have to place the hearts on yourself. It's best to store this polish upside down because the heart glitters are heavy. Shown above is one coat over Seal It With A Kiss, and a generous coat of top coat.

Sweet Getaway is a super bright neon pink creme with a "pink rose" scent. I was surprised at how great the formula on this neon was! It applied smoothly and was perfectly opaque in two coats. It does have that squishy jelly feel to it, similar to On Cloud Nine. My camera did have slight troubles with this polish - I think it's slightly cooler toned than my photo shows! Shown above is two easy coats with top coat.

Tall, Dark & Handsome is a dark gray creme with a "cologne" scent. This color is probably my favorite out of the bunch - I am really loving grays lately! - and I would say it has the strongest scent, probably because it is the only one without a "sweet" scent. I actually wore this one out and kept getting whiffs of cologne! The formula on this one was great, and it was practically opaque in just one coat. Shown above is two easy coats with top coat.

And finally, we have Jitters, a rosy pink full coverage holographic microglitter with a "bubbly" scent. I had a very easy time with the formula on this one - the polish wasn't too thick, so it was very smooth to apply. I reached opacity in two coats, but you can easily layer this over a similar base for a more opaque look, or layer it over a darker color to really show off the holographic sparkle! This glitter was easily smoothed out with just one coat of top coat. Shown above is two easy coats with top coat.

Overall, I really loved most of these polishes! I especially enjoyed the cremes, and I am sure I will be reaching for them a lot in nail art. The scents didn't really appeal to me too much, but like I said, for the most part I didn't really smell them after top coat.

These shades are available from HB Beauty Bar for just $4.95 USD each, and you can use the code POLISHCHALLENGE at checkout for 15% off your entire order!

  2. That's too bad about 50 Shades of Love. I was thinking the red speckles looked really good. But Jitters is really gorgeous! I love microglitters.

  3. On Cloud Nine looks great, and the last glitter...I thought the hearts were interesting until you said it probably isn't supposed to have the flakes and is actually breaking down...oops! Don't really care, though, love me some Color Club!

  4. I'm not a huge fan of the scented aspect of these but that white and dark grey and drool worthy regardless!

  8. Gorgeous swatches. I love the two glitters, it's a shame that the red specks in the heart glitter aren't intentional because they look really good!
