Wedding Wednesday: Blue Bow French Manicure

Hello everyone, and happy Wedding Wednesday! Today's bridal inspired nail art look strays a bit from the classic style - I decided to incorporate "something blue" into the theme with a delicate blue French manicure:

I started off with a base of OPI Sweet Heart - if you recall, this is the nail polish that my brother's fiancee Ashley gifted me with when she asked me to be a bridesmaid - totally appropriate for Wedding Wednesday! Once that was dry, I carefully painted on a thin French tip using KBShimmer In Yacht Water from their upcoming summer collection (I'll be posting my review of that soon!) Then, I took a small brush and KBShimmer Eyes White Open and painted on a thin line on all my nails, ending with a small bow on my ring finger!

From far away, I totally loved this look, but up close, I am a little disappointed in my sloppy freehand line work. I almost wish I had used tape to achieve perfectly straight lines for this - but then again, how will I ever get better at freehanding without practice, right?!

I'm definitely glad I got to incorporate a less conventional nail art look for this series, but I think I might have to try something even more out of the box! Does anyone have any suggestions?!

You can read my introduction to the Wedding Wednesdays series here, and check out last week's manicure here.

Polishes used:
OPI Sweet Heart
KBShimmer In Yacht Water (available May 15th)
KBShimmer Eyes White Open (review here)

  1. Definitely not sloppy. Love it!

  2. Pretty! You're freehand lines are 100x better than mine haha!

  3. That is a really classy, but feminine design. I really love it! :)

  4. I think this is so pretty!
