Love Angeline Welcome To The Tea Party, Part 1: Swatches

Hello everyone, today I've got a new-to-me indie brand to show off called Love, Angeline. The collection that I have to review is eight polishes - four soft white-based "crellies", and four gorgeous fall shimmers with a scattered holo effect - so I am splitting my review into two posts! Today we will take a look at the four crellies.

At first, I figured that these polishes would be your average, everyday white crellies - but they are different from any crelly I have used before. They are pretty sheer and delicate, and the finished look is totally unique! There is just something about these polishes that really intrigue me. Let's look at them individually:

First we have Blueberry Scones, a white crelly packed with light blue, turquoise, and gray glitters. See what I mean when I say these are so unique?? They are so sheer and delicate, unlike any white crelly I have ever worn. This one almost reminds me of a snowy morning. Shown above is four very thin coats with top coat.

Next is Jasmine Tea, a white based crelly with purple, blue, and soft pink hexes in various sizes. Again, another gorgeous polish totally unlike anything I have ever worn. This one is definitely more playful than the others, with bolder colors, but is still so delicate and soft on the nails. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

Cupcakes & Tea Cups is the incredibly appropriately named white crelly filled with soft pink and peach hexes in various sizes. I am going to keep repeating myself here, but again, this one is so dainty and pretty! I could have benefited from a second coat of top coat - this was one of the first ones I tried, and it took a little bit of practice to get the hang of getting the right ratio of glitter to polish on the brush (I will explain my thoughts on the formula below.) Shown above is three thin coats and top coat.

And finally, we have Milk & Honey, a white crelly with yellow, orange, and light blue hexes in various sizes. Again, this was the first I tried, so it was a bit more glitter heavy than my other swatches, but I love the outcome nonetheless. This has to be my favorite named polish in the collection; it brings so many things to mind. Shown above is three thin coats with top coat.

My thoughts on the formulas: I actually applied these polishes in the opposite order than I reviewed them (started with Milk & Honey, then Cupcakes & Tea Cups, etc) and I found that there is definitely a learning curve to applying these crellies. Since they are so sheer and glitter packed, you definitely don't need to fish for any glitters. I found that the most successful way to apply these polishes was the following: wipe your brush off completely on the tip of the bottle, and then dip the now clean brush into the polish to only pick up a small amount of the color/glitter. Then, use that small dab to paint on your nails. Thin coats work best, and it's best not to grab too much glitter. (Does that make sense? Let me know if anyone wants a quick video tutorial on this; it's how I apply most polishes.)

Anyway, these polishes will be restocked next week, and you can pick them up from the Love, Angeline online shop for $8.50 USD per polish. Stay updated on news and restocks by following Love, Angeline on Facebook and Instagram.

Which is your favorite in this collection?

These polishes were provided for my honest review.

  5. first of all, very lovely swatches ( I absolutely love your swatches, I think they are nearly the only ones I read through completely, because I like them so much!).
when I read the first one and you said four coats, I was totally 'woah - four coats! - that doesn't work for me!' , but then these polishes seem really unique, and because you like them so much, I maybe will give them a try! 😆

  6. Well, since I go weak at the knees (still!) for pastels, and particularly pastel crellies, especially with pretty pastel glitters, looks like I have some buying to do! Thank you for the lovely swatches and beautiful photos!

  9. Oh wow, thank you so much for the kind words! You know, I always notice that I put more coats on than other bloggers - I think because I apply my polish so thin. I think for most people, it'd work out if they used 2-3 coats, if that helps ;)
