KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 Collection, Part 1: The Holos

So, we all know that neutral shades are in style this season. Personally, I am loving the trend! And it looks like KBShimmer is dabbling in it too, with the release of their early summer collection. This collection consists of 12 polishes - six basic holographic shades, three gorgeous summer creams, and three bright textured (!!) polishes. Today, I will be showing you the six holographic shades.

I know all these colors aren't considered neutral, but as a collection they look pretty neutral to me ;) All of these shades have a linear holographic shimmer, in varying intensities. I tried to capture them as accurately as I can, but I think the holographic shimmer is more visible in person (especially in sunlight.) Let's take a look:

Pt Young Thing is the most holo of them all! It's a linear holographic silver polish with a flawless formula. I couldn't stop staring at it - even in diffused light you can see the holographic rainbow. Shown above is two coats.

Stark Raven Mad is a black linear holographic polish. Another perfect formula, I found myself loving the holographic pigment in such a dark color. Shown above is two coats.

Run! It's the Coppers! is a (you guessed it) copper holographic polish. The linear holo is strong in this polish! I am pleasantly surprised to report that it looks great with my skin tone. Shown above is two easy coats.

Big Tan on Campus is a soft light brown linear holographic polish. The holo pigment in this wasn't as strong, but I love how delicate it looks. This is definitely a perfect color to wear to work. Shown above is two easy coats.

In Bare Form is a beige/nude linear holographic polish. This one had the weakest holo pigment of the bunch, and yet I am in love with it! Like I said, neutrals are in style this season, and I think this nude is flawless. Shown above is two easy coats.

And last but not least, we have Goldie Rocks, a warm golden holographic polish. This is a great summer color, but I do find that it looks a little off with my skin tone. Shown above is two easy coats.

Overall, I am not surprised to say that the formula on every single polish was absolutely perfect (the easy-to-use wide brushes definitely help with application too.) They all reached opacity in just two coats. And the colors are so pretty!

This collection will be released on May 23rd on the KBShimmer online shop for $8.75 USD each. Don't forget to follow KBShimmer on Facebook and Instagram for news and updates.

And of course, you can find my Instagram page here, where I will also be posting all of my swatches.

Stay tuned for the second half of the collection, the bright summery colors!

  4. These are awesome! I've been searching high and low for a nude holo and I think In Bare Form is the one! But everywhere I look it's not stocked yet, so I'll have to wait :)
