KBShimmer Winter 2013 / Blogger Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have most of the polishes from the KBShimmer Winter 2013 collection, which includes some blogger collaboration shades as well as some beautiful original polishes. (The polishes I am posting today can still be purchased; any others you might have seen from this collection this winter are no longer available!) This collection also has some gorgeous multichromes, which I will be posting separately.

I'd Rather Be With Blue is a gorgeous semi-matte light blue polish filled with iridescent flecks, and it seems to be the only exception to my little disclaimer above - it looks like this polish is no longer available on the KBShimmer website! But, I bought it this winter and I never got a chance to swatch it so I figured I should add it to this post. So, I'm sorry if this is a total tease! But I promise that all the other polishes in this post are available. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Snow Much Fun is a light blue jelly polish filled with blue, white and holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes, including circle glitters and of course, these fun white snowflakes! Since the snowflakes are heavier, they did require a bit of fishing. However, I found that the snowflakes came on the brush easily when I stored the polish upside down. Shown above is one coat over I'd Rather Be With Blue, and KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

When The Doves Sigh is a dark gray crelly packed with blue, turquoise, and pink glitters in various shapes and sizes, most notably large circles and mini bar glitters. There is also a holographic microglitter throughout this polish. Shown above is three thin coats, topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

Will Yule Marry Me? is a dusty navy blue crelly filled with holographic silver circle and hex glitters in multiple sizes. You can see from the bottle that the glitters in this polish really sparkle! There are some larger circle glitters that I couldn't get out of the bottle, but again, storing upside down should make them easier to get out. Shown is three thin coats paired with KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

Toast-ess With The Mostest is a pink, silver, and gold glitter topper packed with circles, hexes, and a ton of microglitters. I decided to pair this polish with a nude to show off all the fun colors. Shown is one coat over Essie Cocktails & Coconuts, and KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

Sand In My Stocking is another glitter topper, filled with gold, orange, and turquoise glitters in various shapes and sizes - even gold star glitters, which I was not expecting to see! This topper was definitely more glitter packed than Toast-ess With The Mostest. I love it layered over light blue. Shown is one coat over Essie Find Me An Oasis, and KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

Green Hex & Glam is a rich green jelly filled with silver holographic hex glitters in various sizes. Storing this polish upside down helped me get the large hex glitters onto every nail with no issues! Shown above is three thin coats, paired with KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

Plum Tuckered Out is a rich plum polish packed with blue shimmer. I've seen this swatched a few times on other blogs, but I found that on my nails, this polish looked a lot warmer - almost magenta - instead of a cool-toned purple. Shown above is two easy coats, no top coat.

Snow Flaking Way is another jelly polish, but I decided to layer this one over dark purple to show off the insanely gorgeous glitters. It's filled with silver holographic glitters in circles, hexes, and snowflakes! Like Snow Much Fun, the snowflakes were a bit heavy and did require some fishing. I love the way this looks layered, but it's also beautiful on it's own! Shown above is two coats over Essie Under The Twilight, and KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

And last but definitely not least, we have Maybe Navy, which my photo does not do justice at all. When I saw photos of this polish, I wasn't too impressed - but as soon as I saw it in person, I fell in love. This rich blue shimmer polish sparkles purple, pink, and even green in the light - you can tell from how the light catches the bottle in the photo above. Shown above is three thin coats, paired with KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry top coat.

I was so happy to get my hands on this collection, because I have been in love with almost all of these colors since I first saw the press releases. All of the polishes above (with the exception of I'd Rather Be With Blue) are available on the KBShimmer online store for $8.75 USD per bottle.

Don't forget to follow KBShimmer on Facebook and Instagram for news and updates.

And of course, you can find my Instagram page here, where I will also be posting all of my swatches!

Some polishes in this post were provided to me by their manufacturer.

  1. I really liked this collection, but I only ended up getting Snow Much Fun because I thought it was the most unique! Although I'm still contemplating Sand in my Stocking!
