a-England The Blessed Damozel Swatch + Nail Art

- PROVIDED FOR REVIEW -

Hello everyone! Today I have a fun new shade to show you from a-England called The Blessed Damozel, as well as some funky nail art. It's been quite a while since I've used a-England polishes, but here's a fun little fact: they were actually the first indie brand I ever purchased, way back in early 2012 when I was just getting into nail art. (In fact, if you go all the way back to my very first post on Instagram, you'll see a photo of the two shades I purchased!)

Anyway, let's take a look at this new shade:

Mix n Match Purple Patterned Nails!

Today's nail art is inspired by a BUNCH of amazing nail artists. Now, my cuticles aren't looking great today, because I took the photos in a hurry!

So let's start with the pinky finger, which is a mixed up chevron manicure inspired by this awesome manicure by Dressed Up Nails.

The middle finger is inspired by the amazing Little Nails and her flawless mermaid nails.

And last but not least is the fishtail braid nails, which I created with the help of this tutorial by Lucy's Stash.

(Yes, you can see the edge of my lightbox! Whoops!)

I used a TON of colors in this manicure. I will try to rattle them all off:
- China Glaze Fancy Pants, Tart-y For the Party, Designer Satin
- a England Avalon
- Pretty & Polished Romance is Dead
- Colour Gossip Bora Bora

I think that's all of them!

Enjoy this mixed up manicure :)

31DC2012 Day 8: Metallic

For today's manicure, I took a bit of inspiration from Kayla Shevonne's metallic fishtail manicure.

It came out being a tight fishtail, but I like the way it looks! With a base of a England's King Arthur and Essie Good as Gold and Sinful Colors Black on Black.

It did come out a bit wider on the bottom than on the top.

Oh well! See you tomorrow for rainbow nails.

31DC2012 Day 6: Purple

Well, technically the challenge says violet. But I really don't know what shade of purple is violet, so here is my purple nail:

The base is a England Avalon, and the stamping is with Sinful Colors Heavy Metal, an awesome silver for stamping. I realized after I was done that the hearts were upside down, but it still looks cute!

PS the color is not totally accurate for Avalon - it is definitely more purple hued in natural light. But for some reason in my fluorescent light it looks kind of purple.

a-England King Arthur French Tip Manicure

Today I have some very simple nail art for you. I decided to try King Arthur out on its own and it was so beautiful that I couldn't bear to put anything over it!

King Arthur is an A England polish. It is described a "tungsten, steel gray with subtle diamond shimmer." And it really does have a lovely shimmer, but it is hard to see unless you are in direct light.

Here I have a simple black line (Sinful Colors Black on Black) to make it an elegant French manicure.

With the black tip, it looks like I have a matte top coat on the King Arthur, but that is just the formula of the shimmer! I think it looks pretty elegant.

And since I am incapable of making straight lines, I achieved this style using regular Scotch tape.

My New A-England Polishes: Avalon with King Arthur Stamping

My a-England nail polishes finally arrived in the mail and I could not be more excited! I got two polishes from the Mythicals collection during the recent sale - Avalon and King Arthur.

I started with Avalon, a cool-toned purple shimmer with an incredibly royal looking shine!
I then stamped with my new Bundle Monster plate, King Arthur, which is another cool toned color, a dark steel gray with a shimmer as well.
I topped it all off with Matte-ly in Love by Hard Candy.

I know this stamp is being so overused right now but I totally love it. I love how subtle the stamp came out.

What do you think of this nail art?
