The Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns on Patterns: Stripes on Stripes (and Cirque Doyers Review)

Can you believe it? We’ve finally reached the end of Digit-al Dozen week! My final look for you is my favorite of the entire week – I’ve been saving it for last! I absolutely love how intricate striping tape can make a manicure look, and I think it looks sophisticated in this color scheme (which is, of course, red and white for Valentine’s Day!)

To get this look, I started off with a base of Zoya Ana on all my nails. (I am totally obsessed with wearing all of the Naturel Satins – you can read my review of them here.) Once it was dry, I taped off sections and painted on Cirque Doyers and KBShimmer Eyes White Open. Then, I peeled off the tape to reveal the classy nude lines! I topped everything off with top coat.

The pattern of the striping tape is reminiscent of an oldmanicure I did for New Year’s a couple years back – I really do love the way it looks with two different colors! Technically, this isn’t a “pattern on pattern”, but the idea is that one layer of stripes covers the other layer. Get it?

Either way, I am completely satisfied with this manicure! I definitely want to use the Naturel Satins for more nail art, since the colors are so versatile. And can we take a moment to obsess over the perfect red creme that is Cirque Doyers?!

Here is a swatch of Doyers. It’s a cherry red creme with a jelly-like formula. This is part of the ongoing Metropolis Collection, and it’s their release for February. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, but also a great color to have all year round. The formula was the same as their other Metropolis shades that I reviewed for January. Shown above is two easy coats with top coat.

Here are the polishes I used for my nail art look:

You can find my review of the Zoya Naturel Satin here, and the KBShimmer white creme reviewed here. I purchased the striping tape from Amazon.

What do you think of today’s nail art look? And what do you think of Doyers? I’d love to hear from you!

Make sure you visit the other talented ladies for our last day of the Digit-al Dozen!

  5. I really love this one! I especially like that you did a nude base coat instead of another color or just letting you naked nail show through. Really pretty color combination.
